MELFALAN (Melphalan).

     Synonym : Alkeran, Alkeran.

     Powder. Nerastvorim almost in the water.

     On chemical structure is different from sarkolizina but sarkolizin is ratsematom and melfalan its l-isomer.

     Like sarkolizinu has cytostatic activity (in contacting guaninom in regulation 6, block education mezhtsepochechnyh cross-linking of molecules of DNA), and its use as an anticancer means (often neglected in cases) for the treatment of multiple myeloma, ovarian adenokartsinomy, malignant melanoma (lokalizovvnnoy) , soft tissue sarcoma, neyroblastomy and some other cancers.

     Assign inside or intravenously.

     Inside is usually applied to 0,006 g (6 mg) a day (under the supervision of blood).

     Intravenous to be 0.01 g (10 mg) per day for 7-10 days, then to 0,002 grams (2 mg) a day as maintenance therapy.

     Side effects and contraindications are basically the same as that sarkolizina.

     Method of issuance : pills for 0,002 and 0,005 grams (2 and 5 mg) (N 25); Dried powder for injection solutions in bottles of 0.05 g (50 mg) together with the solvent.
