Penfluridol (penfluridolum)
PENFLYURIDOL (Penfluridolum). 1-[4, 4 - Bis (para-fluorophenyl) - butyl] -4-[4-chloro-(trifluoromethyl) phenyl] - 4-piperidinol.
Synonyms : Semap, Fluridol, Longoran, Longoperidol, Micefal, Oraleptin, Semap.
The structure and action close to pimozidu. Has prolonged neuroleptic effect because drug metabolism slow. The effect after a single dose remained for about a week, while a pimozida lasts approximately 24 h.
Indications and contraindications for use mainly the same as for pimozida. Most shows as a vehicle for maintenance therapy in patients with low maloprogredientnoy and schizophrenia.
Assign inside of 20 to 60 mg (sometimes up to 100 mg) every 5 to 7 days (mean dose of 40 to 60 mg per week).
Product : pills to 0.02 g (20 mg) in a package of 12 pieces.
There is also a product of prolonged action penflyuridola decanoate.
