PYROXICAM (Piroxicam). Oksi-2- methyl 4 - (N-pyridlyl-2) karboksamido 2-N-1, 2-benzotiazin-1, 1-diokisyu

     Synonyms: Piroks, Roksikam, Toldin, Algitrat, Androxicam, Calmapir, Erason, Feldene, Pirox, Piroxiflam, Pronaxen, Toldin and others.

     Yellow crystalline powder, trudnorastvorimy water.

     In action similar to other non-steroid anti-drugs.

     Easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, the peak concentration in blood plasma through a 3 - 5 h after administration of the interior, and half-time is about 36-45 h. This makes half a considerable period of prolonged drug use and the possibility of one every day in a relatively small dose.

     Indications and contraindications basically the same as for other non-steroid anti-drugs ortofena, parometitsina and others.

     Inside generally accepted PYROXICAM 20 mg (2 tablets or capsules 1) 1 every day during or after the meal. Perhaps the use of 10 mg (one tablet) two times a day.

     Usually PYROXICAM moved well, but can the same side effects as with similar drugs.

     PYROXICAM may reinforce antikoagulyantov effect. Aspirin reduces piroksikama in blood plasma.

     Contraindications see Ortofen. No use of the drug during pregnancy and breast feeding. Do not appoint PYROXICAM when requiring greater attention. It is the simultaneous use of alcohol.

     Method of production: tablets of 0.01 g (10 mg) in a package of 20 pieces; Capsules of 0.02 g (20 mg).
